Flat Roofing

Repairs and full replacements on flat roofs — felt, EPDM rubber and fibreglass GRP — for extensions, garages, dormers, porches and commercial premises across Falkirk.

The right system for the job

Flat roofs take a beating from standing water and the freeze-thaw cycle of a Scottish winter, and an old felt roof will eventually blister, split and leak. The trick is choosing the right modern system and laying it properly, with the falls and detailing that keep water moving off the roof.

We work in torch-on felt, EPDM rubber and fibreglass GRP, and we'll recommend the one that fits your roof, its use and your budget — then fit it to last.

Flat roof work we take on

  • Extension, garage, porch and dormer flat roofs
  • Torch-on felt roofs repaired or replaced
  • EPDM rubber single-ply membranes
  • Fibreglass GRP roofs and balconies
  • Timber deck repairs and improved falls to stop ponding
  • New edge trims, flashings and rainwater outlets

Flat Roofing FAQs

Can a flat roof be repaired, or does it need replacing? +
If the deck underneath is sound and the damage is localised, a repair is often all that's needed. Where the covering has blistered, split or is holding water across the whole roof, replacement is the better long-term fix. We survey it and give you an honest recommendation.
What's the best flat roof material — felt, EPDM or fibreglass? +
Modern torch-on felt is cost-effective and reliable; EPDM rubber is a single seamless membrane that's very durable; fibreglass (GRP) gives a hard, seamless finish that's great for balconies and dormers. We'll advise which suits your roof and budget.
How much does it cost to replace a flat roof? +
Cost depends on the size of the roof, the material you choose and the state of the timber deck beneath. We give a fixed written quote after a free survey — including any deck repairs — so there are no surprises.
Why is my flat roof leaking? +
Common causes are splits or blisters in old felt, failed seams, ponding water sitting after rain, or damaged flashing where the flat roof meets a wall. We trace the actual source before quoting rather than just patching the nearest wet spot.
